Willie Nelson is obtaining some relaxation on doctor’s orders. The country singer, 91, canceled his overall look at the Outlaw Audio Festival Tour on Friday for wellness reasons, a statement shared on his social media webpages said.
“We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling properly and, per doctor’s orders, has been suggested to relaxation for the up coming 4 days,” the statement explained.
Nelson is “expected to make a rapid recovery,” in accordance to the announcement.
Supplemental details about Nelson’s health and fitness was not supplied. Nelson was scheduled to perform Friday in Georgia as part of the Outlaw Music Festival Tour, which he is headlining. He was also established to accomplish on Saturday and Sunday in North Carolina.
“I am thrilled to get back again on the road yet again with my family and buddies playing the songs we love for the supporters we really like,” he said in February when the festival’s lineup was unveiled.
The announcement shared on Nelson’s social media web pages said the singer is expected to join the Outlaw Audio Competition Tour next 7 days, and in the meantime, his son Lukas Nelson and visitors would accomplish a “special set” such as Nelson’s classics. The tour is set to shift to Virginia and New York on June 26 by way of June 29.
This comes just after Nelson was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year. The “On the Street Again” singer performed with Chris Stapleton, Dave Matthews and Sheryl Crow all through the induction ceremony.
“Thanks for appreciating my new music,” Nelson claimed at the time.
In April, Nelson teamed up with Orville Peck for a duet cover of “Cowboys Are Routinely Secretly Fond of Every Other,” the 1981 song about gay cowboys. In an interview with GLAAD, Peck as opposed Nelson’s guidance of the LGBTQ+ local community with that of Dolly Parton.
